DMS technologies wins
Stagecoach contract for 24V Engine Start Power Packs
May 2007
Hampshire-based DMS technologies, specialist manufacturer of engine start
packs for the military and emergency services, has agreed a contract with
Stagecoach Bus & Coach of Manchester to supply the RedFlash®24HD Power
Pack across Stagecoach’s depot network.
The high rate RedFlash®24HD delivers a cranking current of 1100A, with a
peak of 2400A, and is capable of the multi-starting of a number of
vehicles in between charging. These starter packs incorporate such safety
features as surge and spike protection to eliminate damage to the on-board
electronics whilst an On/Off isolator switch ensures the power is
available only when it is needed.
The use of fully insulated cable clamps or “cow-bell” connectors, welding
grade cable and the highest quality batteries means the unit can be used
in the harshest environments and will start the most stubborn of engines.
A robust polyethylene case both protects the internal batteries and
electronics and is also resistant to oils and contaminants found in a
workshop.
In addition to such accessories as trollies, cable extensions and
replacement fuses etc., the RedFlash®24HD comes complete with a 3-stage 8A
charger for fast and efficient charging.
