Custom Build - Design and manufacturing
capability for integrated power systems
|
|
We have many years experience in designing and
manufacturing specialised battery and power systems. This experience
covers a wide range of battery technologies including:
Our capabilities include the use of the latest 3D
CAD design software enabling us to produce complete battery systems
utilising injection moulding, blow moulding, vacuum forming,
sheet-metal, plastic fabrication and casting. We are competent at
manufacturing high and low volume battery and charger systems and have
experience working with the Military, Telecoms, Medical and Industrial
fields. As examples we have provided below some business areas where
DMS technologies has been able to offer high performance solutions.

Cyclon is an ideal technology for
switch tripping applications due to its ability to provide extreme
high rate discharges and can be configured into a variety of voltages
from the 2V cells. It can operate in the harshest of environments due
to its wide operating temperature
range (-65°C to +80°C).
Another benefit of our AGM batteries is their ability to accept
unlimited recharge current using voltage control, whereas most standard lead calcium
batteries can only accept 10% of their rated capacity. This means, in
some applications, Cyclon can be recharged to 95% of its rated
capacity within an hour. This battery range has a long storage life,
twice that of conventional Sealed Lead Acid batteries, and can be
stored from fully charged for 2 years at 25°C without requiring
recharging
Key Features:
-
High pulse current up to 665 Amps
-
Wide temperature range –65°C to +80°C (-85°F to
+176°F)
-
Float/stand by design life of 15 years at 20°C
(68°F)
-
No maintenance required
-
Versatile voltage multiples: 6V, 12V, 24V, 30V, 48V etc
-
Install in any orientation
-
Lightweight and compact

Our experienced Technical department has the
capability to correctly specify the ideal solar panel, regulator and
batteries to suit your application. Our high quality products have a
very low self-discharge rate that makes our products ideal for solar
applications.
The use of renewable energy is apparent throughout all our markets.
Designing systems to sufficiently recharge equipment (often in
harshest of environments) requires a specialist understanding of both
battery recharging systems and available photovoltaic technology.
We can also offer batteries with an extended temperature range (-65°C
to +80°C), fast recharge capability and premium safety.
Battery packs can be manufactured that are mountable, for example,
inside poles making them ideal for projects where sizing and voltages
are unique, offering a complete integrated 'green' solution.
Project: Bus Shelters / Bus Stops
DMS technologies manufactures specialist rechargeable battery packs
for use in bus stops and bus shelters to power LED’s for lighting and
display illumination. These packs have been specifically designed to
fit inside the frames or poles and are charged via solar panels
mounted on the shelter roof or bus-stop pole.
Apart from the savings made through the use of solar power, these
developments help provide improved communication plus added safety and
comfort for passengers.
The sealed lead acid cells used for this application have an operating
temperature range from -65°C to +80°C and benefit from excellent shock
and vibration resistance making them ideal for the purpose. Their
resistance to corrosion, longer operating life than other battery
technologies as well as an ability to accept trickle charging makes
the Cyclon range the natural choice.
