For TPWS in areas without a secure power supply, a 2200VA UPS was
installed to provide standby power in case of mains supply brown out
or total failure.

DMS technologies were tasked by Network Rail to provide long life
replacement batteries for the APC UPS mounted in trackside cabinets.

The Red Flash® 600 is a nominal 12V 16Ah valve regulated Lead Acid
battery using absorbed glass mat technology to provide a 10 year
design life solution for the TPWS. The system uses four 12V blocks
connected in series to give a nominal 48V supply to the UPS. One set
of 48V batteries has been sized and designed to fit in the existing
UPS unit. For extended run times, a replacement battery cassette can
be supplied housing a further two 48V batteries in parallel. Up to 3
battery cassettes can be installed into the location cabinet. |
